BTEC Level 3 National Extended diploma in Performing Arts (Dance)
Our two year fully funded BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma’s in Dance are uniquely tailored to provide our learners with the essential practical, expressive, and technical skill sets, alongside embedding supportive theoretical understanding and knowledge needed to ensure a successful future for progression on to Higher / Vocational Education and the Performing Arts Industry.
We pride ourselves in delivering the latest Pearson specification in Performing Arts Practice (2019), to reflect the everchanging industry and Higher Education and Vocation course’s entry demands.
The programme layout consists of four large modules, two in each year of study with sub-units.
The four modules include:
- Skills development
- The Performing Arts Industry
- Personal Performing Arts Profile
- Collaborative Performing Arts Project
On completion of the course, learners are awarded with three overall grades, equating to UCAS points for progression on to Higher / Vocation Education. We are excited to announce that Shockout Arts have recently launched a two-year accelerated BA(HONS) Degree in Professional and Commercial Dance, which provides the perfect pathway for our BTEC students to further their studies and to enable them to enter the industry with a full BA(HONS) if there choose to take this route.
The Shockout Academy BTEC is renowned for our elite intensive training and showcases, going above and beyond the guided learning hours, in order to enrich our learners training to meet a conservatoire model, delivered by industry professionals, whilst maintaining a personal feel to support each individual and their capabilities.
Lessons consist of Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Commercial, Tap, Acting, Singing and Musical Theatre, specifically tracked to learner’s pathway in Dance or Musical Theatre.
Our past and present students and teachers have worked with some of the best performers, West end shows and TV programming in the business: Coronation Street, Hollyoaks, The Bill, Eastenders, Britainnia High, Some like it Hip Hop, Into the Hoods and many more.
