BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Performing Arts (Dance)

Our two year fully funded BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Dance is uniquely tailored to provide our learners with the essential, intensive practical and theoretical understanding and knowledge needed to ensure a successful future for progression in to Higher/Vocational Education and the Performing Arts Industry.

We pride ourselves in delivering training that’s relevant and reflects the everchanging industry and Higher Education and Vocational course demands. Our course is delivered by highly qualified teachers and industry experts, whilst maintaining a personal feel to support each individual and their capabilities

The programme layout consists of four large modules, two in each year of study with sub-units. The four modules include:

The Performing Arts Industry
Personal Performing Arts Profile
Collaborative Performing Arts Project

On completion of the course learners are awarded with three overall grades, equating to UCAS points for progression on to Higher / Vocation Education. We are excited to announce that Shockout Arts have recently launched a two-year accelerated BA(Hons) Degree in Professional and Commercial Dance, which provides the perfect pathway for our BTEC students to further their studies and to enable them to enter the industry with a full BA(Hons) if there choose to take this route.

The Shockout Academy BTEC is renowned for our elite intensive training and showcases, going above and beyond the guided learning hours, in order to enrich our learners training to meet a conservatoire model. Our course is delivered by highly qualified teachers and industry professionals, whilst maintaining a personal feel to support each individual and their capabilities.

Lessons consist of Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Commercial, Tap, Acting, Singing and Musical Theatre, specifically tracked to learner’s pathway in Dance or Musical Theatre.

Requirements

Entry Requirements for Students at Shockout Academy BTEC 3 Extended Diploma Performing Arts Professional Dance:

At least 5 GCSEs grades A*-C, including include English and/or Math’s and/or relevant Level 2 qualifications such as BTEC Diploma / Certificate / Extended Certificate. Applicants without formal academic qualifications that demonstrate experience and/or exceptional potential can also be considered.

In addition you will be required to attend an audition as part of the application process. The quality of the audition is the primary basis on which applicants, with at least the minimum entry requirements, are selected.

Shockout Academy's offers a unique fully funded two-year BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Performing Arts Practice (Dance) specialising in Hip Hop and Street Dance. The program,taught by industry experts, covers choreography, breaking, popping, locking, house, and hip-hop freestyle.

Award: BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma

BTEC Level 3 National Extended diploma in Performing Arts (Musical Theatre)

Our fully funded level 3 BTEC diploma course offers the opportunity to acquire and develop essential technical, artistic and theoretical skills.
