Covid Secure Environment

We are committed to delivering a holistic experience in September 2020 by providing you with a fully operational environment supported with virtual and online learning tools. You will have opportunities to study and engage in person with our staff and other students in a Covid-secure environment. This information confirms how you will learn and be taught when you start your course with us in September 2020.

On-campus teaching – maintaining social distancing in a Covid-secure environment

You will continue to take part in classes on campus in smaller groups where possible. The spaces are being redesigned to provide a safe environment for you to carry out this essential part of your learning ie Studios will be marked out with a 1m or the safe distance recommended by the UK Government at that time between students.  Your personal tutorial sessions will take place on campus face-to-face within the necessary social distancing parameters and also online.

Online teaching

Our online and on-campus delivery will utilise adaptive teaching and learning techniques while taking advantage of learning technologies. This will enable us to customise teaching, learning and personal tutoring to suit your individual learning need. Our online learning tools are already tried and tested with our students and provide materials to allow you to learn in your own time outside the classroom.

Personal tutoring and Student services

When you join Shockout, you will be assigned a Head of Year who will look after your journey and welfare. Regular one-to-one sessions will take place both on-campus and remotely via video call. Our range of student support services will also be available on-campus and remotely depending on the specific need.

Social and peer learning environments

We know that learning also takes place beyond the studios. we are also creating Covid-secure social learning zones across the studio for you to carry out group work, meet with other students, and make the most of university life.

University facilities

Extensive social-distancing measures will be in place to enable you to utilise our resource rooms and break out areas.  Temperature checks will be done on arrival, hand sanitiser dispensers will be located around the space and we are preparing managed walking zones around the studio to make you feel safe so you can make the most of your experience.
